Hands ARE Vectors !
Hands are the parts of our body that touch most things we are surrounded by. Statistically we touch the face without even being aware of it. So, it is fair to assume that hands transport germs to entry points like the mouth, nose and eyes. Air and water droplets carrying pathogens are also vehicles that can come into contact with these mucous membranes. It becomes clear to focus on hand and air hygiene when it comes to preventing spread of disease caused by germs .
AND HERE COMES THE TOPIC OF HAND AND AIR SANITIZERS
As a chemist, physician and surgeon I cannot begin to stress the importance of this concept for infection control. We practice it daily in the operating room and in our clinics. The 2019 Coronavirus Pandemic will forever change everyone’s daily habits. It will be universally accepted to sanitize our hands multiple times during the day, after performing various tasks around the office, returning home from the outdoors, grocery stores, parks and even friends homes. We will need to sanitize before each and every meal, whether its at home, take-out or dining out. For this reason, it is imperative to educate people on how the importance of hand sanitizers in preventing the spread of disease.
